ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers will look to continue their winning streak against the Duke City Gladiators this Saturday, June 19 at 5:05 p.m. MST. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the IFL.

Leading the IFL with 11 rushing touchdowns, quarterback Drew Powell propelled the Rattlers to a victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls in Arizona's home opener with one passing touchdown and three rushing touchdowns. Powell's average of 75.7 rushing yards per game also lead the IFL.

The Arizona Rattlers lead the IFL in total offense with 270.5 yards per game while ranking third in scoring offense at 45.5 points per game. The Rattlers' IFL-leading rushing offense enters Week 9 averaging 127.5 yards per game behind Powell and running backs Nick LaSane and Darrell Monroe

Sharp Secondary

Defensive back Dillon Winfrey grabbed his second interception of the season against the Sugar Skulls, tying the Rattlers for second in the IFL with four total interceptions on the season. Winfrey finished the game with two pass breakups and four total tackles.

The Rattlers' defensive front got the job done against quarterback Demry Croft with a dominant game from Ricky Wyatt Jr. Wyatt wrapped up Croft for a safety in the first quarter and added another sack late in the fourth, to go along with a team-high nine total tackles en route to being named the IFL's Defensive Player of the Week for Week 8. The Rattlers' defense has five sacks on the season, ranking sixth in the IFL.

Duel in Duke City

This Saturday night, the Duke City Gladiators will host the Arizona Rattlers in a matchup between the IFL's No. 1 ranked scoring offense and the IFL's No. 1 ranked total offense, respectively. Both teams' quarterbacks have won IFL Offensive Player of the Week honors at given points this season, with Duke City quarterback Nate Davis earning the title for his efforts in Week 5 and Arizona quarterback Drew Powell earning the honors in Week 7.

The Duke City Gladiators enter Week 9 coming off of a win over the Northern Arizona Wranglers on the road. Nate Davis completed 13 passes for three touchdowns and 148 yards, while adding another touchdown on the ground. While the Gladiators rank 10th in overall scoring defense, they held the Wranglers to a 2021 IFL-low 17 points during their Week 8 contest.
