Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers Interim Head Coach J.T. Smith announced today that the Arena Football league franchise has agreed to terms with WR Dusty Kain for the remainder of the season.

Kain (5-11, 180) re-joins the Barnstormers after a nearly two-year hiatus from the team. The Wide Receiver joined the Barnstormers during their af2 days as a walk-on in 2008 and by mid-season 2009 had cemented himself into the starting lineup. Kain finished the 2009 season third on the team with 54 receptions for 614 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also finished first on the team with 27 tackles on special teams, making him the Barnstormers special teams player of the year in 2009.

Prior to joining the Barnstormers Kain was a two-sport standout at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa where he starred at both football and baseball from 2003-06. He instantly became known as a fan-favorite for his acrobatic catches and inspired play. He continues to hold every major single-season and career receiving record for Simpson football.

Kain will be in action with the rest of the Barnstormers as Iowa closes out the regular season this Saturday night, July 23 when the Georgia Force come to town. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:05pm. Great seats remain on sale now. Join us for "Pack the Barn" night.
