Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers today announced the arena football club will hold its annual free agent camp and open try-out on Saturday, February 6 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in downtown Des Moines. The free agent camp is open to any athlete over age 18 and interested in playing professional football for the Barnstormers during the 2010 AF1 season.

The free agent camp will be under the direction of Barnstormers Head Coach John Gregory and his staff. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the camp starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. The camp is open to all position players.

"The quality of players and athletes who attend these free agent camps is always impressive," said Gregory, who noted that current Barnstormers' wide receiver Dusty Kain was a product of the team's 2008 free agent camp. Last season, the Barnstormers signed defensive backs Jordan Davis and Vonzell Pittman to contracts following performances at the 2009 camp. Coach Gregory continued, "I encourage any athlete who believes they have what it takes to be a professional football player to participate and give it their best shot."

Team officials noted this will be the final free agent camp prior to the 2010 season and that the coaching staff anticipates extending a number of invitations to the official Iowa Barnstormers Pre-Season Training Camp, which is currently slated to begin in March.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register by visiting the Iowa Barnstormers' home page at www.theiowabarnstormers.com and following the instructions on the Free Agent Camp link. Participants can also call the Barnstormers' front office for details at (515) 633-2255.
