Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Willie Quinnie has been added to the 2010 roster. In another roster move, the Shock have traded WR Terry Moss to the Alabama Vipers for future considerations.

Quinnie, 6-2 180, is a two-year AFL veteran who also has professional experience in the NFL (San Diego Chargers, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons), NFL Europe (Rhein Fire), and the CFL.

Most recently, Quinnie spent the 2007-2008 season with the Colorado Crush. In his rookie year, Quinnie recorded 72 receptions for 844 yards with 14 touchdowns. The following season, Quinnie tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions (30) and collected 123 receptions for 1,256 yards.

"I'm really excited about joining the Shock," Quinnie explained. "I want to come in and be a leader and I want to learn and be a team player. That's what it takes to play winning football. Hopefully, things will work out in Spokane and we will win a championship."

After a decorated career at the University of Alabama Birmingham, Quinnie signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons and spent half of the 2003 season on the team's practice squad before being released.

In 2004, Quinnie joined the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe. That season, he led the team in punt returns (19 returns for 168 yards) and finished second on the team with 46 receptions for 408 yards with three touchdowns. After ten games with the Fire, Quinnie signed a contract with the San Diego Chargers and was assigned to the practice squad.

The following year, Quinnie was invited to the Chargers' training camp but was released just before the start of the regular season.

In 2006, Quinnie joined the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In ten games, he returned 25 kickoffs for 464 yards and 12 punts for 59 yards. A few months after the Tiger-Cats released him, Quinnie signed with the Green Bay Packers where he was released.

"Quinnie had other opportunities that he turned down to be here," Head Coach Rob Keefe explained."Not only does that tell me that he wants to be a part of the Spokane Shock, he also believes this is the best place to get him back to the NFL."

The Shock will kick off the season on April 2nd as they host the Milwaukee Iron on Spokane Tribe Field at the Spokane Arena. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462.
