MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Iron arena football team will hold its final Free Agent Football Camp on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Brookfield Indoor Complex located at 19485 West Lisbon Road in Brookfield, WI 53045.
Registration will begin at 10:00 am and tryouts will begin at 11:00 am. Milwaukee Iron head coach Bob Landsee and the rest of the Iron staff will conduct the camp. This camp has limited space so it is highly recommended that participants pre-register by calling 262-523-9206 or emailing their information to mkennedy@mkeiron.com before Friday March 13, 2010 as spaces are filling up.
A pre-registration fee of $50.00 will be charged and must be paid in cash during registration on day of camp. A fee of $65.00 will be charged for all walk-ups (space permitting) who were not pre-registered. Participants must be 18 years or older by March 13, 2010 to attend the camp. Proper photo ID such as a valid driver's license will be needed. The Town Place Suites by Marriott, located at 600 North Calhoun Road in Brookfield, WI 53005, will offer a special rate of $69 per night for Milwaukee Iron camp participants. Accommodations can be made by calling 262-784-8450.
"With training camp about to start, this is a great opportunity for us to look at players," said Bob Landsee, Head Coach of the Iron. "Wisconsin and the surrounding area have produced several talented players for us in the past and we are confident that we can find talented athletes for our 2010 roster. We have already signed a few players out of free agent camps and this will allow us to sign the best players from the Milwaukee area."
All participants will be required to sign a waiver and fill out a registration form before beginning any part of the workout. These forms will be available at the registration desk. Participants should be prepared to complete any drills that are done at professional football combines or tryouts including but not limited to short shuttle, 40-yard dash, broad jump, bench press, one-on-one, three-on-three drills and other activities. The tryout will be held indoors on a turf surface, so participants must bring appropriate clothing and shoes (football cleats). Participants should also bring their own mouthpiece.
Coaches from other football leagues will also be on hand evaluating talent.
The Milwaukee Iron have ascended to the highest level of Arena Football as a member of Arena Football One. Downtown Milwaukee and the Bradley Center will come alive in 2010 as the Iron host legendary Arena Football League opponents such as the Arizona Rattlers, Chicago Rush, Cleveland Gladiators, Iowa Barnstormers, Orlando Predators, Tampa Bay Storm, Tulsa Talons, Utah Blaze and more.
Iron season tickets are currently on sale, starting as low as $50.
