Barnstormers Continue to Add to Defense

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back JR Stevens to the 2022 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
Stevens (6-1, 185, Indiana University of Pennsylvania) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his for his first season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Stevens spent four years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he appeared in 48 games recording 133 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, ten interceptions, two touchdowns, and one forced fumble. Stevens also racked up numerous honors including First Team All-American, Second Team All-American, First Team All-Super Region, and Second Team All-PSAC-West.
"JR is a great talent with a great nose for the ball," said Head Coach Mogensen. "In college he had an amazing slat line of over 50 combined interceptions and passes defended. Those are video game numbers. JR can come in and be a major force as a rookie in the IFL."
Stevens will enter the Iowa Barnstormers 2022 Training Camp in the spring.
