Iowa Barnstormers News Release

Des Moines, Iowa - For the fourth straight season, the Iowa Barnstormers are proud to announce that they have teamed up with the Des Moines Kiwanis Miracle League. On Saturday, June 2 Barnstormers players and coaches will become guest buddies for four lucky Miracle League teams. The event will take place at the Kiwanis Miracle League field, located across from Principal Park on SW 5th Street in Des Moines beginning at 3:00pm.

The Des Moines Kiwanis Miracle League provides children with physical or mental challenges a safe and spirited program in which they can hit, run, and catch on a baseball field. The league is open to players age 5 through 18. The Kiwanis Miracle League at Principal Park is a place where every player plays in the field, and has the opportunity to hit, get on base, score. Best of all, every player wins - every inning. All players are matched with a "buddy" to help with hitting, catching, fielding, or throwing the ball, and to provide encouragement and assistance as needed.
