Barnstormers Announce Potential Home Playoff Dates

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers of arenafootball2 are pleased to announce their potential home dates for the 2009 Arena Cup playoffs. The Barnstormers currenty hold the #3 seed in the American Conference. Iowa has already clinched a playoff berth and their magic number to win the Midwest Division Championship stands at one.
Should the Barnstormers secure the division championship, they would host a first round playoff game against a still to be determined opponent at Wellmark Field on Friday, July 31. When asked why the team has chosen to host a game on Friday instead of on their traditional Saturday night, Barnstormers President Jeff Lamberti responded, " We felt playing on Friday night would give our fans the opportunity to take advantage of some other great events going on that weekend in Central Iowa, including the NASCAR Nationwide race at Iowa Speedway." Lamberti went on encouraging fans to support both events, noting "what a wonderful weekend this will be for Iowa sports and entertainment."
If the Barnstormers advance past the first round of the playoffs, there is the potential to host up to two additional home games. These games would be played on Saturday, August 8 and Saturday August 15. Kick-off for all three potential games is scheduled for 7:05pm. The af2 championship, ArenaCup X is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 at the Orleans Casino and Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. If the Barnstormers win the division championship this weekend, tickets for the July 31 first round home game will go on sale to the general public at 10:00am, on Tuesday, July 21.
