Milwaukee Mustangs News Release

The Milwaukee Iron and Green Bay Blizzard will take part in the first annual "Battle for the Milk Can" on Friday, July 17 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis. The winner of the rivalry game will be awarded with the coveted red Milk Can, which bears the logos of both franchises.

The "Battle for the Milk Can" will take place every year at the last Iron/Blizzard meeting in Green Bay. The winning team will get to hold on to the Milk Can for a year as a symbol of its arena football supremacy in the state of Wisconsin.

Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt will serve as the honorary captain for the coin flip and will present the trophy to the winning team at the conclusion of the game. Schmitt and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are expected to announce a friendly wager on the contest.

In addition to the logos of both teams, the approximately three-foot tall trophy includes the logo of its sponsor, Piggly Wiggly, as well as room on the side reserved for the engraving of the results of previous games.

This will be the third and final game this season between Milwaukee and Green Bay, with the Blizzard taking the first two games in Milwaukee.

Kickoff for the game between the Iron (5-9) and Blizzard (8-6) is set for 7:30 p.m. Iron fans can contact Ryan at the Blizzard ticket office by phone at 920-405-1264 or by email at ryan@greenbayblizzard.com to receive specially discounted tickets for $11.50 each.

The Iron, who remain in the hunt for an af2 playoff berth, will close out the season at home on Friday, July 24, against the Albany Firebirds. Kickoff for the finale at the Bradley Center is at 7:00 p.m.
