Barnstormers And Prairie Meadows Announce Team Captain & Coin Toss Promotion

DES MOINES - The locally-owned Iowa Barnstormers today announced, in partnership with Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, that one lucky Barnstormers fan will win the opportunity to be the Barnstormers Honorary Team Captain and throw the opening coin toss at midfield to start the Barnstormers' June 21 game against the Peoria Pirates.
The Barnstormers Night at the Races will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 20 on the outside "track apron" at Prairie Meadows. While there, fans will be able to meet the Barnstormers players and coaches at the only public appearance where the entire Iowa Barnstormers organization will be available for autographs, photos and to meet with fans.
The Honorary Team Captain and Coin Toss Promotion is available only by registering Friday night during the Barnstormers Night at the Races. The promotion and Barnstormers Night at the Races is open to the public and to fans of all ages. In addition to the featured promotion, fans can also register to win Barnstormers tickets, merchandise and even a Barnstormers game-used autographed team football.
"The Barnstormers organization appreciates the support it receives from local businesses like Prairie Meadows," said Jeff Lamberti, team president and member of the Barnstormers local ownership group. "It has been a trying couple of weeks here in central Iowa with the weather, so I encourage all our fans to come on out on Friday for a fun and relaxed night with our players and coaches, and who knows, maybe you'll go home being our honorary captain for Saturday's game."
