Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES -Despite being in the final week of the 2012 season, Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Mike Hohensee has continued his search far and wide to find the right players to make up his roster. Thursday morning, Hohensee announced that the team has agreed to terms with rookie Linebacker Peter Buck.

Buck (6-1, 230) played his college football at Sacramento State University from 2007-2011. In four years with the Hornets, he compiled 274 tackles, good for 5th most in school history. Buck was named to the All Big Sky second team as a senior in 2011 and was a four time member of the All Big Sky Academic team. Most recently, Buck played 14 games for the Omaha Beef of the IFL this season and was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year for the entire league. He finished the season with 147 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 2 interceptions.

When asked to comment Hohensee stated, "Peter is a very smart player who plays with a lot of heart. He has a motor that never stops and should bring some help to our pass rush." Buck will make his first appearance as a Barnstormer, this Saturday night vs. San Antonio. He hopes that a good impression could earn him an invite to next year's training camp.

Great seats still remain on sale now for Saturday night's season finale vs. San Antonio. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05pm. The game is sponsored by the Iowa National Guard. The first 1,000 kids age 14 and under will receive a free Rodney Filer youth replica jersey, courtesy of Scrap Processors, Inc. Special Coca Cola 4-packs are also available for just $44.00. You can reserve your tickets now online at www.theiowabarnstormers.com or by calling the team's offices at 515.633.2255.
