Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Tuesday announced that the Detroit Red Wings have assigned left wing Ryan Barnes to the American Hockey League team. Barnes, who yesterday became the sixth Grand Rapids player in a span of seven days to receive a call-up, made his NHL debut last night in the Red Wings' 4-1 win over Florida.
