Teddy Bear Toss Friday Night at the Arena

December 16, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY – The Binghamton Senators, 2002-03 East Division champions, remind fans that Friday's game versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (7:05 p.m.) is Teddy Bear Toss Night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Fans are asked to bring a new, stuffed toy to that night's game. When the Senators score their first goal of the game, fans may toss their stuffed toy donation onto the ice. The toys will be collected and distributed to area children via the local Toys for Tots program.

The Southern Tier Young Professionals will also be in attendance collecting new, unwrapped gifts at their display area on the Arena concourse.

On Monday, holiday cheer was spread at the Saratoga Heights Day Nursery in Binghamton courtesy of the Senators. Presents were made possible through generous donations made by players and front office staff with that amount matched with a donation from Senators majority owner Tim Smith.

Player representatives Andy Hedlund, David Hymovitz, Chris Kelly, Josh Langfeld, and Serge Payer, along with Community Relations Coordinator Georgia Vieira, delivered the presents to the excited group of young children at the Day Nursery.
