
Barnes and Workman Optioned to Pawtucket

Prior to tonight's game against the Twins, the Boston Red Sox made the following roster moves:
Right-handed pitchers Matt Barnes and Brandon Workman were optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. Left-handed pitcher Dana Eveland was reassigned to minor league camp. Right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly was placed on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to March 27) with a right biceps strain.
Executive Vice President/General Manager Ben Cherington made the announcements.
With these moves, the Red Sox now have 35 players in big league camp, including 27 active players from the 40-man roster, six non-roster invitees, and two players on the disabled list.
