
Bannister and Calafiore Help Lead Titans to 4-2 Win over Rebels

Forwards Tommy Bannister had two goals and an assist and recent returnee Anthony Calafiore had three assists to help lead the visiting New Jersey Titans to a 4 - 2 win over the Jamestown Rebels at the Northwest Arena last night.
The Rebels' Emerick Nadeau was called for tripping at 3:56 into the opening period. Fifty seconds later Bannister got the Titans on the board with assists from Jake LaRusso and Calafiore to make it a 1 - 0 game. It was Bannister's third goal of the year.
With 3:22 remaining in the first period, defenseman Jack Karlsson scored his second goal of the season with assists from Bannister and Calafiore to double the Titans lead and make it 2 - 0.
Titans captain Stephen Willey made it 3 - 0 at 4:38 into the second period with assists from Owen Luik (third point of the year) and Tyler Sanborn (first point). It was Willey's second goal of the season.
The Rebels mounted a comeback when Kevin Marx Moren scored midway through the second period to make it a 3 - 1 game, and then Lucas (Peter) Klemm brought Jamestown within one with four minutes remaining in the middle stanza.
Bannister scored his second goal of the game, an empty netter, with one second remaining in the contest to close out the scoring.
Titans newly acquired veteran goaltender Andrew Takacs stopped 19 of 21 shots while Jamestown's Chace Hale turned aside 14 of 17. Click here for the box score.
The two teams will play their second game of their two games series tonight at 7:00 PM at the Northwest Arena.
