Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks, a proud member of the Northeast League, have agreed to a trade with the Fort Worth (TX) Cats of the Central League that sends RHP Kevin Orga to the Cats in exchange for cash and a player to be named later.
The 25 year-old Orga tossed 66.0 innings for the Joliet (IL) Jackhammers last season, going 4-1 with a 3.55 ERA. A career independent player, Orga has gone 12-11 with a 3.87 ERA in 209.1 career innings pitched with 138 strikeouts.
Orga was acquired in a trade with the Jackhammers in the off-season, but competition in the Lumberjacks camp was tough for the limited spots on the pitching staff, prompting the trade.
The Lumberjacks open the 2003 campaign on the road against the Allentown (PA) Ambassadors on Thursday, May 22, but return to Bangor for the home opener on Friday, May 30 at 7 PM against the New Jersey Jackals at Mahaney Diamond. Please call 207-947-1900 for all ticket, promotional, and sponsorship information.
