
Bandits Walk Past Captains 6-0

Lake County Captains News Release
(Davenport, IA) Lake County walked in three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and the River Bandits went on to beat the Captains 6-0. Alexis Paredes inherited two runners in scoring position with two outs and walked four straight hitters and three runs came into score. The Bandits snapped a six-game losing streak with the win. The Captains have dropped four straight games.
Quad Cities scored first. In the bottom of the first inning, the Bandits sent seven batters to the plate and scored one run. Ronnie Mitchell knocked in the run on an RBI groundout. The score was 1-0 River Bandits.
The River Bandits added an Insurance run in the bottom half of the sixth inning. James Ramsey tripled to right field with one out. Ramsey came in to score on a sacrifice fly by J.D. Davis and the score was 5-0. In the seventh, Chase McDonald blasted his eighth homerun of the season over the centerfield wall. McDonald's solo shot made it a 6-0 game.
RHP Mitch Brown (2-8) started the game for the Captains and took the loss. Brown allowed three runs, one earned run on three hits, one walk, two hit batters, one wild pitch and Mitch fanned seven. Alexis Paredes pitched to four batters and walked them all. Paredes allowed one earned run and walked in a total of three runs. Justin Garcia pitched one and one third innings and allowed one hit, one earned run with one walk and one strikeout. Justin Brantley pitched two innings of relief and allowed two hits one earned run two walks and he struck out two. Captains pitching walked eight hitters on the night.
RHP Michael Feliz (6-2) started for Quad Cities and earned the win. Feliz pitched seven shutout innings and allowed just three hits, three walks and he fanned eight. Tyler Brunnemann pitched two scoreless innings and struck out three. The two pitchers for Quad Cities combined to strikeout 11 Captains.
The Captains will remain on the road to continue a six-game road trip to the state of Iowa. On Sunday, Lake County will take on the Quad Cities River Bandits. The Captains will send RHP Jordan Milbrath (3-9, 3.38) to the mound and the River Bandits will counter with RHP Edison Frias (5-5, 6.14). First Pitch is at 6:00 PM from Modern Woodman Park in Davenport, IA.
