LANSING, Mich. - The Clinton LumberKings (11-17, 41-55) handed the Lansing Lugnuts (13-15, 45-52) their third consecutive loss on Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium, cruising to a 6-2 win before a crowd of 9,212.

The Lugnuts dropped to 4-11 against Midwest League Western Division opponents and have dropped nine of their last 13 games overall.

Clinton took 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by first baseman Justin Seager, and plated a second run in the fourth when catcher Marcus Littlewood scored on a wild pitch by Lansing starter Brad Allen (Loss, 3-3).

A solo home run in the sixth by left fielder Chantz Mack ended the evening for Allen, who allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Reliever Matt Dermody allowed three more runs to score in the inning as the LumberKings opened a 6-0 lead.

Lansing broke into the scoring column in the bottom of the sixth when Mitch Nay grounded into a double play, allowing David Harris to score from third.

After reaching on a bunt single in the sixth, center fielder D.J. Davis scored after two wild pitches by Clinton starter Jose Flores (Win, 3-1).

Flores pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

The LumberKings held the Lugnuts to 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Lansing and Clinton play the second in the three-game series on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. at Cooley Law School Stadium. Right-hander Jeremy Gabryszwski (6-3, 4.18) will start for the Lugnuts, with righty Carlos Misell (8-8, 4.15).
