Sioux City Bandits News Release

Sioux City, IA - The Sioux City Bandits of United Indoor Football (UIF) announced the resignation of Interim Head Coach Roger Jansen. Coach Jansen took over the Head Coach position after Richard Britt resigned on Mar. 30. Jansen has been a coach for the Bandits in five of the seven seasons that the Bandits have played.

Managing Partner Bob Scott said, "We want to thank Roger for all his efforts in taking the Head Coaching position this year after Richard resigned. Roger has been an asset to our organization for a number of years-I hate to see him step down. Roger has a lot of other commitments with his business and I understand the commitment it takes to run a football team. When you put in long days and it starts to affect you physically and mentally there comes a point when you have to step back. Roger can come back to be a part of our team any time he chooses-we wish him the best," Scott added.

Jansen said, "I want to thank Bob, Mark and the fans for allowing me to be a part of the Bandits over the years. This was a tough decision, but at some point in time you have to be concerned over your health and well being and I was at that point. I just physically could not do it anymore," Jansen added.

Assistant Coaches Tom Luxford and Pat Arens will coach the team for the final five regular-season games. The Bandits play Saturday in Sioux Falls against the two-time UIF Champion Storm, who have won 29 straight games. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.
