Virginia Ballerz News Release
Richmond, VA. Members of the ABA Richmond Ballerz helped raise $97,000 for 65 Richmond families affected by flooding caused by Tropical Storm Ernesto. Team members answered telephones to take pledges from listeners who donated money to request their favorite songs played on the radio.
Radio One stations, WCDX/Power 92.1, WKJS/Kiss 105.7 and WPZZ/Praise 104.7 played listener requests for 12 hours September 21 to raise money for families living in the Battery Park area who were displaced by the storm. The City of Richmond partnered with the BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund to distribute 100% of the money collected to the families in need.
