Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

Orleans, MA. The ABA Cape Cod Frenzy are pleased to announce the signing of 6-6 forward Richmond Pittman Jr. Pittman, a slashing power forward played college ball at Central Connecticut State. In 2002, the Blue Devils finished the regular season 27-4 and earned a trip to the "Big Dance" where they ultimately lost to Pittsburgh in the first round. Pittman posted career high averages of 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Last year, he played overseas with Valur Reykjavik in Iceland, dominating their league with averages of 29.0 points, 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 62% from the field.

This past summer, Pittman joined the Cape Cod Frenzy's summer team entry in the Boston Premier Pro Summer League at Mass Arts. Pittman went head to head with Boston Celtics forward Ryan Gomes in the Frenzy's defeat of Gomes' squad 125-100. During that game, Pittman scored 31 points while doing most of the defensive work on Gomes. Pittman captured the Co-MVP of the Summer Pro League with averages of 31.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game while leading Cape Cod to the crown.

"Rich Pittman backs down from no one and that's why we were after him to join the Frenzy," explained Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy. "His speed and athleticism on the break as well as his post game is going to be something special for us."

The Frenzy plan to announce more signings in the coming days as the team's roster comes into focus. A ten day training camp begins on October 23rd and it will be held at Willy's Gym in North Eastham, MA.
