Zakee Boyd signs with Express

October 10, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jersey Express News Release

Newark, NJ. The ABA Newark Express has added another talented Newark native, Zakee Boyd to its roster. Boyd played high school basketball for Philadelphia Lutheran, where he averaged 21 points per game. He once scored 33 points against Oak Hill Academy's Carmelo Anthony in high school. Zakee is a 6-6 guard/forward who played for NCAA Division I Wright State University last year.

Boyd is extremely athletic and an exceptional shooter from long distance with great size and quickness. He is extremely gifted offensively and defensively and promises to take his game to another level. Zakee is a very accomplished player who's been scouted since high school.

He recently participated in several NBA camps and looks to develop that "it factor" in Newark. "We'll look for Zakee to do it on both ends of the court, he's that type of player. There will be night where he'll have to guard the best perimeter player on the floor," said Coach Moore. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
