ABA Northeast Division Presents Can You Ball Showcase To Feature Tri-State Teams New Jersey, Staten Island, Connecticut & New York To Be Represented
August 7, 2012 - This will be an ABA Northeast Division Showcase for New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Representatives from the Jersey Express, Staten Island Vipers, NYC Thunder and the 2011/12 Division Champion Connecticut TopBallerz, will be in attendance, and looking for talent to compete for roster spots for the upcoming 2012-13 ABA season. Players will have the opportunity to speak to the GM's and Coaches from ALL 3 organizations. This showcase will be taped for a 30 sec commercial.

"With the departure of the NBA's NJ (Brooklyn) Nets from the area, I, along with the other owners in the division felt that having a divisional showcase just made sense. Bringing the tri-state talent together for not only the Express, but also for the Vipers, Thunder and TopBallerz,to be able to evaluate the players all under one roof" stated Marsha Blount, Owner of the Jersey Express.
Trevor Hairston, Co-Owner of the Connecticut TopBallerz "after a successful inaugural season in 2011-2012, we are looking to work with our northeast division, to expand the ABA brand within the tri-state area. Working with our Division Chairman NJ Express Marsha and SI Vipers Ayanna and Kyle, we are looking to evaluate talent all in one place, creating top competition in aprofessional atmosphere".
Ayanna Phillip, Co-Owner of the Staten Island Vipers stated "having a Regional Showcase instead of individual team tryouts benefits our conference as well as the ABA. It's an advantage for the local talent to have a better opportunity to showcase their skills for each team in the Northeast Division and it gives us a wider selection of players that will be able to compete on a pro level".
