Baldwin Complete Game Highlights 5-2 Win

(Chattanooga, TN) August 24th- Andy Baldwin pitched a complete game five hitter to lead the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx to a 5-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts. The complete game was the third of the season for Diamond Jaxx pitchers and the win was the fourth in the five game series. The Diamond Jaxx have now won six of their last seven games.

Baldwin (5-12) allowed two runs on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts in his first complete game of the season. Unofficially, Baldwin threw 109 pitches in the nine inning gem. Marshall Hubbard had two hits and two RBI's, giving him 77 RBI's on the season, third best in the Southern League. Erick Monzon chipped in with two hits while Rene Rivera and Jesus Merchan drove in a run each to spark the Diamond Jaxx offense.

Johnny Cueto suffered the tough luck loss for the Lookouts, dropping his record to 4-3 on the season. Cueto allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits with one walk and eleven strikeouts on the night. Shawn Cumberland and Drew Anderson drove in a run each to pace the Chattanooga offense.

The Diamond Jaxx road trip continues as the Jaxx head to Huntsville to open up a five game series with the Stars on Saturday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Travis Chick (5-6 5.14) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Righty Corey Thurman (4-7 4.66) gets the start for the Stars.
