
Bakersfield Sets Franchise Best in Wins

BAKERSFIELD, March 19, 2013 - The Bakersfield Jam (30-12) dominated the Tulsa 66ers (24-18) in a 101-70 victory Tuesday at the SpiritBank Event Center. With the win, the Jam have set a new franchise record in wins in a regular-season with 30 (best season came in 2010-11 when they finished 29-21).
It was a low scoring start for both teams as Bakersfield held a slight advantage of 17-15 to end the first quarter. However, that would be the closest it got all game between Bakersfield and Tulsa as the Jam took complete control afterwards and surged past the 66ers for the next three quarters. Bakersfield outscored the 66ers 84-55 the rest of the game to earn their fifth straight victory.
Bakersfield shot 48 percent from the field while Tulsa shot just 37 percent. The 66ers committed 24 turnovers compared to just 12 for the Jam.
Damion James had a team-high of 17 points while James Nunnally came off the bench and scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. Jerel McNeal finished with 14 points and Quincy Acy posted 12 points and nine rebounds. Stephen Dennis contributed 12 points and four steals off the bench for the Jam.
Tulsa was led by Rasual Butler who had a game-high of 20 points. Tony Taylor scored 14 points while Hollis Thompson had 12 points off the bench.
Bakersfield will next travel to Texas for a match against the Legends on Thursday, March 21. Tip-off is scheduled at 5 p.m. PST.
