Bakersfield Falls to Tulsa

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam suffered their first defeat of the season, loosing to Tulsa 66ers 108-93 at the Jam Events Center Saturday night. Jeremy Wise finished with game-high 22 points and Marqus Blakely posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Zabian Dowdell lead Tulsa with 19 first half points, making 7 of 12 from the field. A bright spark for the Jam off the bench was guard Stephen Dennis who recorded 7 points at the half, 13 points total for the game. Bakersfield looked to regain the momentum going into halftime when Stephen Dennis threw a lob to Brandon Wallace at the buzzer, but the dunk was waived off. Beginning the second half, Tulsa took control of the game when Elijah Millsap hit back-to-back threes.

Jam came out cold tonight shooting 44.4% from the field and 17.6% from downtown on the night. Trey Johnson finished the game with 21 points on 7-14 shooting and forward Brandon Wallace added 8 points and game-high 14 rebounds.

Tulsa's Zabian Dowdell scored a team-high 21 points and had 8 assists and center Marcus Lewis added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Elijah Millsap finished with 18 points, Larry Owens with 17 and Tweety Carter added 18 points off the bench. Tulsa forced 19 Bakersfield turnovers and lead by as many as 17 points.

Up next for the Jam is their first road- trip of the season as they travel to face the Reno Bighorns Friday and Saturday nights. The 66ers will return home to face Iowa Energy on November 26.
