
Mad Ants Win Home Opener

Fort Wayne, IN (November 21, 2010)- The Fort Wayne Mad Ants used a late run in the fourth quarter to win their season opener at home against the Sioux Falls Skyforce 99-97. Rod Wilmont energized the Mad Ants late in the game with an 18 point second half.
Sioux Falls was hot at the start of the game, jumping out to a quick 16 point lead over the Ants, and they finished the first quarter up 31-21. The Skyforce held the lead going into the locker room at the half up 51-43 over the home team.
The second half was a back and forth battle, as the Mad Ants led for the first time all game with 1:40 left on the clock off of two free throws made by Chris Kramer. The Skyforce had one last chance to win the game and came up short.
Wilmont led all scorers with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Walker Russell Jr. finished with 16 points and Darnell Lazare contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Skyforce had five players finish in double figures and were led by Anthony Mason, who finished with 17 points.
These two teams will meet again Tuesday night at the Memorial Coliseum at 7:00pm.
