BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., November 25, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam (3-2) topped the Santa Cruz Warriors (2-3) 119-107 Tuesday night at the Dignity Health Event Center.
After ending the opening quarter with a 23-20 lead, Bakersfield struggled for majority of the second period, particularly on the defensive side, as they allowed Santa Cruz to score 41 points on 70.8 percent shooting from the field. The Jam went into the half trailing the Warriors 61-54.
The turning point in the game came in the third quarter where the Bakersfield offense exploded as they outscored Santa Cruz 37-23 and went into the final frame with a 91-84 advantage. The Jam ran away with the victory in the fourth, extending their lead to as many as 17 points.
Elijah Millsap nearly registered a triple-double (30 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds), while Mac Koshwal finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Casey Prather had 14 points and Jamil Wilson chipped in 11 points and six rebounds. Earl Barron contributed 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
The Warriors were led by Joe Alexander (35 points) and Sean Kilpatrick (15 points). James Michael McAdoo tallied 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Jam will next travel to Texas for a game against the Legends on Friday, November 28 at 5:00 p.m. PT. This will be Bakersfield's first road trip of the season. Fans can watch the game live at NBADLeague.com.
