BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., December 8, 2014 - Earl Barron (34 points, 14 rebounds) paced the Bakersfield Jam (6-4) to a 119-100 victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders (2-9) on Monday night at the Dignity Health Event Center.
Barron scored 15 of his game-high 34 points in the first quarter, helping the Jam to a 31-23 lead after one. Unable to keep momentum on their side, Bakersfield struggled in the second quarter and got outscored 30-22 while shooting just 29.6 percent from field.
With a tie ball game at the half (53-53), the Jam opened the third quarter with a 29-5 surge that put them ahead 82-59 with 3:25 left in the period. The third quarter proved to be the difference maker in the game, as Los Angeles was never able to get back in the game after Bakersfield's dominant quarter performance. In the final frame, the Jam led by as many as 27 points.
Chris Wright finished with 29 points (5-of-8 3FG's) and eight assists, while Mac Koshwal (13 points, 12 rebounds) and Elijah Millsap (12 points, 10 assists) each recorded a double-double. Xavier Munford and Casey Prather each tallied 12 points off the bench for the Jam.
The D-Fenders were paced by Roscoe Smith (24 points, 11 rebounds) and Eloy Vargas (15 points). Josiah Turner contributed 14 points off the bench.
The Jam will next go on a two-game road trip, starting in Canton, Ohio when they take on the Charge on Thursday, December 11 at 4:00 p.m. PT. Fans can watch the game live on NBADLeague.com.
