The Canton Charge (5-4), presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (3-5) by a 113-103 margin at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Tuesday night.
Canton led for virtually the entire game, beginning with Stephen Holt's layup to go up 2-0 at the 11:27 mark of the first quarter. Canton tied a franchise record by dishing out 31 assists on 42-of-75 attempts from the floor (56%). The Charge also were hot from beyond the arc, nailing a season-high 16 triples on 27 attempts for their second win this season in as many games of hitting at least 40% of shots from long distance.
Chris Crawford paced the Charge with a superb all-around effort of 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting with eight boards and nine assists in 28 minutes. Michael Dunigan stepped up for a season-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting and seven rebounds in 32 minutes. Stephen Holt poured in 19 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting with five rebounds, six assists and two steals in 39 minutes.
The Skyforce had three players score 20+ points in the defeat, led by Miami Heat assignment Andre Dawkins' 28 points, six rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes. Khem Birch added 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting with seven boards in 37 minutes. Fuquan Edwin posted 20 points and four steals in 34 minutes.
