
Bakersfield Blitz Activate WR/LB George Williams from Refused to Report

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Blitz announced today that WR/LB, George Williams has been activated from Refused to Report list and will be playing on Sunday, June 25 in the game against the Arkansas Twisters.
George Williams (6', 200, Kansas St.) is in his fourth year playing in the af2. For the 2005 season, Williams played for the Central Valley Coyotes where he was ranked third in the league for scoring 43 touchdowns. While playing for the Coyotes, Williams recorded 116 receptions for 1633 yards and 39 reception touchdowns. He also totaled 32 kick returns for 542 yards.
Williams signed with the Stockton Lightning for the 2006 season. He played four games before he was placed on team suspension after the team's loss to the Blitz on April 29. While playing for Stockton, Williams recorded 25 receptions for 358 yards and 7 touchdowns, averaging 89.5 reception yards per game. Shortly after, Williams was traded to the Tennessee Valley Vipers where he was placed on Refused to Report list.
Williams is currently ranked sixth in the league for "Most Points Scored, Nonkicking, Career" with 656 points.
Williams is replacing WR/LB, Nian Taylor, who has been placed on re-assignment by the af2 league office.
