BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice for three games this week, after completing a three-game series in Las Vegas on Monday night. The Condors earned two points during their stay in Vegas, winning the series opener on Friday, 3-1.
The Condors sit in 4th place in the Pacific Division, at 14-25-6 with 34 points in the standings. They trail the Phoenix RoadRunners by five points for 8th place in the National Conference standings.

WEEK IN REVIEW (Home team in CAPS): Friday, Jan. 30 Condors 3 vs. LAS VEGAS 1 Donning orange prison-style jerseys as part of the Wranglers Rod Blagojevich Prison Uniform Night, the Condors skated to a 3-1 victory to start a three-game series in Vegas. After a scoreless first period, C Brett Pilkington and LW Mark Derlago scored in a dominant second stanza, in which the Condors out-shot Vegas, 21-3. F Matt Pope added a power play tally early in the third before Vegas got on the board late in the period to avoid the shutout. G Dave McKee stopped 15 of 16 shots in the win.
Saturday, Jan. 31 LAS VEGAS 5 vs. Condors 1 The Wranglers bounced back with a 5-1 win against the Condors on Saturday, despite Bakersfield doubling Vegas in shots on goal, 46-23. Vegas struck for three tallies in the opening frame to open an early lead. Midway through the third period, F Dave Bonk (right) got the Condors on the board, but Vegas responded with two more en route to the 5-1 final. Wranglers G Glenn Fisher finished with 45 saves, while G Dave McKee stopped 18 of 23 for Bakersfield.
Monday, Feb. 2 LAS VEGAS 6 vs. Condors 5 The Condors scored four goals in the third period, three of which came in the final three minutes, but the Wranglers held on for the narrow 6-5 win in Vegas on Monday night. C Bruce Graham, D Donny Grover, LW Mark Derlago and C Brett Pilkington (left) all scored for the Condors, with Pilkington netting a pair of tallies in the late rally. G Yutaka Fukufuji was pulled in the second period but reinserted in net to start the third, and stopped 17 of 21 shots in just over 43 minutes of game time while being charged with the loss. PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
The Condors are 2nd in the league in average attendance at 5,932 fans per game. F Dave Bonk is on a six-game point streak, with 5g-3a during that stretch. F Matt Pope had a five-game point streak come to an end Monday night. He leads the team and ranks 4th in the ECHL (2nd among rookies) with 24 goals. Pope also is 2nd on the team and tied for 12th in the league (t-4th among rookies) with 44 points. RW Chad Painchaud (right) is 3rd in the ECHL in assists (36) and tied for 10th in points (45). His four points (all assists) on the week move him one ahead of Pope for the team lead. He also leads the team with 14 multi-point games this season (one ahead of Pope's 13). F Andrew Ianiero is only seven points shy of tying Paul Rosebush for 3rd on the Condors All-Time scoring list. He currently has 232 points in his Bakersfield career. The Condors out-shot the Wranglers, 109-65, in their three-game series, and rank 7th in the ECHL with an average of 32.5 shots per game. The Condors will play 14 games in the next 27 days. The Condors have scored a power play goal in eight of their last nine games, and rank 7th in the ECHL on the advantage at 18.6%. D Sean Hurley was activated from the 30-IR on Saturday and returned to the ice that night for the first time since Dec. 28. D Tyler Scott (7-IR) was also activated on Saturday. RW Liam Huculak was placed on the 7-IR on Saturday, and is eligible to be activated this Saturday, Feb. 7. RW Mike Wirll (3-IR) and LW Bobby Bolt (30-IR) remain on the IR, though they are eligible to be activated.

STUDENT ID NIGHT, ACTION FIGURINE GIVEAWAY AND ZOOPERSTARS THIS WEEK: The Condors return to The Nest for a three-game homestand, starting on Wednesday when the Idaho Steelheads come to town. That game will be a High School / College ID Night, sponsored by My 45 and 106.1 KRAB Radio, during which high school and college students can receive $1 lower-bowl admission by presenting their student ID at the arena box office.
On Friday, the Condors host the Alaska Aces for Action Figurine Giveaway, sponsored by Bright House Networks and Farmers Insurance. The first 3,000 fans, 5-and-older, will receive a Condors Goalie Action Figurine!
Then on Saturday, the Condors host the Steelheads for the second time in three games. That night, the ZOOperstars, presented by KGET-TV 17, 101.5 KGFM and Mercy & Memorial Hospitals, will be at The Nest. Come see 10-foot tall mascot characters, including Donovan McCrabb, Nomar Garciaparrot, Mario Lemule, LeBronco James, Alex Frogriguez and Mackerel Jordan entertain fans of all ages.
Prior to Saturday night's game, the Condors will hold their annual Guns & Hoses game at Rabobank Arena. Local law enforcement officers and firefighters will hit the ice on Saturday at 3 p.m. to raise funds for charity. Tickets for Saturday night's game will also serve as admission to the Guns & Hoses game, so be sure to hang on to your tickets after Guns & Hoses!
