Mayotte Wins Weekly Award Again

PRINCETON, N.J. - Kris Mayotte of the Johnstown Chiefs is the Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 26-Feb. 1. It is the second time this season that he has been chosen for the award. He also won it for the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2.

Mayotte was 3-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .935 to help the Chiefs move into first place in the North Division with a record of 26-16-2.

The 24 year old posted back-to-back wins against Mississippi, turning aside 23 shots in a 3-1 win on Wednesday and making 28 saves in a 5-2 win on Friday. He won his third game in a row on Saturday when he stopped 36 shots in a 5-3 win against Reading.

Mayotte, who was the starter for the American Conference in the All-Star Game, is 18-9-2 with a goals-against average of 2.70 and a save percentage of .912 in 30 game. He is second in wins and shootout wins with three while ranking third in minutes with 1,775.

Mayotte was 18-9-4 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.97 and a save percentage of .901 in 35 games for the Fresno Falcons in 2007-08.

He played in the ECHL as a rookie in 2005-06 and was 2-1-1 with a goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .931 in four games with San Diego. He also played in the AHL for Lowell in 2005-06 and in his only appearance stopped 22 shots.
