Bakersfield Jam News Release

BAKERSFIELD, December 29, 2011 - The Bakersfield Jam have acquired Seton Hall standout Jeremy Hazell, the team announced today.

Hazell participated in training camp with the Phoenix Suns. The Jam claimed his rights through the league's "Affiliate Player" rule that allows NBA Development League affiliates to acquire players that were waived from their affiliate's training camp, and who do not otherwise have their rights held by another team.

A 6-5, 180-pound guard, Hazell played briefly with Lucentum Alicante in Spain. An All-Big East Third Team selection, Hazell averaged 19.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.4 steals in 18 games his senior season. He finished his career ranked third all-time in scoring at Seton Hall with 2,146 points and set a Big East Conference record with 201 made three-pointers in conference games.

To create room on their roster, the Jam waived guard/forward Damian Johnson. The current roster now stands at 10 players.
