Cleveland Charge News Release

The Canton Charge set a new season high with their fourth-straight win with a 111-98 victory over the Maine Red Claws at the Civic Center Thursday night. The win was Canton's second over Maine in three nights. The Charge improved to 7-5 on the season while the Red Claws fell to 4-8.

After Canton came out quickly in the previous meeting Tuesday, tonight's matchup was closely contested throughout the first half. The Charge took a four-point lead into halftime, with every player getting in the scoring column.

As it has been throughout this winning streak, the Charge's best offensive quarter was also their best defensive quarter. Canton came out in the third surging and outscored Maine 31-18 to control the game behind Tyrell Biggs' 10 points. The home team never looked back as they are now 7-0 when scoring over 100 points in a game.

Biggs finished with 18 points and five rebounds to lead Canton in scoring. Frank Hassell provided a strong presence inside with 11 points and seven boards after being added to the roster just hours before tipoff. Antonio Graves picked up where he left of Tuesday with high energy all over the court in adding nine points and five rebounds. Graves hasn't been hesitant whatsoever after coming back from a wrist injury, diving after loose balls and flying after missed shots.

Antoine Agudio put up his fifth-straight game with double-digit points, finishing with 15 supplemented by five rebounds. Trent Strickland added 11 points, five rebounds and one monster dunk on a fast break in the fourth quarter that got all 2,383 at the Civic Center on their feet.

Kenny Hayes paced the Red Claws with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting and four assists. Ricky Davis made his D-League debut for Maine, providing six points, two rebounds and four assists in just under 25 minutes of play. Paul Harris had his second double-double in as many games with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Charge will cap off their four game homestand on New Year's Eve against the Erie BayHawks on Saturday night. Maine will head home to host the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Saturday night.
