Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard is proud to announce that the legendary University of Wisconsin Marching Band will be performing at their Friday, May 19th game against the Quad City Steamwheelers.
"The Badger Band" will be making their first-ever appearance at a Blizzard game, and will be performing at the pre-game tailgate party in Bart Starr Plaza, then come inside to perform the National Anthem, play a special set at halftime, and finally put on their famed "5th Quarter" after the game.
The game will be on Piggly Wiggly "Stomp Out Hunger" Food Drive Night, and fans will be encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to the Salvation Army and the DePere Christian Outreach Center. The game is also the same night as the first annual J.J. Keller & Associates "High School Tug-of-War Challenge," and fans will be treated to the semi-final and championship matches at halftime, with a special trophy dedication by Blizzard President Brian Noble, J.J. Keller President James Keller, and Appleton Xavier High School Athletic Director Kathy Bates.
On hand to present the trophy to the tournament champion will be Joel and Deanna Williams, the parents of Bradley Williams, the Xavier High junior who passed away during a football practice last year. Prior to the championship match, the trophy will be dedicated to the memory of Bradley Williams, and every year the winning team's name will be emblazoned on the base.
