Potomac Nationals News Release

For the second consecutive week, Tyler Moore has been named Carolina League Player of the Week. The Potomac first baseman went 15 for 30 (.500) for the week of July 19-25. In that stretch, Moore smashed five homers, seven doubles and drove in 17 RBI. He also walked four times to move his OBP for the week to over .500.

Moore's 10-game hit streak was snapped yesterday in a victory at Winston-Salem. Over 42 at-bats during the streak, Moore hit .548 (23-42) with 17 extra-base hits (ten doubles, seven homers) for a 1.286 slugging percentage. Even though his streak ended yesterday, Moore still reached base three times on three walks.

The Mississippi State product started the month of July 0 for 17 but now appears to be one of the Carolina League favorites for Topps Player of the Month.

Potomac travels to Wilmington to face the Blue Rocks tonight. Coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. on www.potomacnationals.com.
