Goaltender Garrett Bartus has made it back-to-back winners for the Macon Mayhem for the Southern Professional Hockey League/Easton Player of the Week Award. The SPHL has named Bartus the winner for the week ending Sunday February 28th.

Last week his Mayhem counterpart in goal, Curtis Martinu won the honor. This week, Bartus gets the nod for the second time (he won the second week of the season).

The 6-foot-2, 190 pounder from St. Charles, IL was in goal as the Mayhem won two road games against the second place Mississippi RiverKings. On Friday he stopped 31 of 33 shots in a 3-2 win. Saturday he and the Mayhem worked overtime, and Bartus stopped 39 of 4-2 shots in a 4-3 Macon victory. The Mayhem got outshot

42-19 in that game, and 27-8 over the final two periods of regulation time.

Bartus is first in the SPHL in saves (1,145); second in save percentage (.929); second in wins (16); and fifth in goals against average (2.42).
