
Babcock Joins Team Canada

Former Spokane Chief Head Coach Mike Babcock has been named Team Canada's Assistant Coach for the 2004 IIHF Men's World Hockey Championship.
Babcock, in his second season as the Head Coach of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and Tom Renney of the New York Rangers will assist Joel Queneville at the World Hockey Championships from April 24th-May 9th in Prague, Czech Repbulic.
Last season, in his first year as head coach of the Mighty Ducks, Babcock led Anaheim to their first ever appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native was the Chiefs head coach from 1994-2000, leading the franchise to a pair of WHL Finals (1996, 2000). Babcock was named the Western Conference Coach of the Year both seasons.
