
Babbitt Recalled by Trail Blazers

PORTLAND, Oregon, March 28, 2011 - The Portland Trail Blazers have recalled forward Luke Babbitt from the Idaho Stampede, it was announced today by Portland General Manager Rich Cho.
In 14 games (nine starts) over two stints with the Stampede, Babbitt averaged 20.1 points (51.3% FG, 88.1% FT), 7.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 29.0 minutes per game. He scored a season-high and Stampede season-high 34 points (12-16 FG) in his final outing at Austin on March 27.
The 6-9 forward played 10 games in his most recent stint with Idaho from March 3-27, posting averages of 20.9 points (55.8% FG, 85.7% FT), 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.7 minutes per game. Babbitt played four games for the Stampede from Dec. 8-16.
Babbitt, 21, is averaging 1.1 points, .9 rebounds and 4.8 minutes in 21 games with the Trail Blazers. Portland acquired the University of Nevada-Reno product from Minnesota in a draft day trade on June 24, 2010. Babbitt will be available for tonight's game in San Antonio.
