LAST GAME: Despite overcoming a three-run deficit, the Binghamton Mets surrendered three runs in the ninth inning and fell to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 6-3, Friday night at NYSEG Stadium. Jon Berti's sac fly off Jon Velasquez in the final inning broke the tie and Brad Glenn's two-run single two batters later sealed the deal. The Fisher Cats had jumped out to a 3-0 lead on three solo home runs. Gabe Jacobo, Glenn, and Ryan Schimpf each left the yard against B-Mets starter Darin Gorski. After failing to crack the scoreboard for the first six innings against Aaron Sanchez, the B-Mets broke through in the seventh against New Hampshire's bullpen. Wil Browningallowed all three batters he faced to reach before Scott Gracey took over and walked Wilfredo Tovar to force in a run. Matt Reynoldsfollowed with an RBI single and Travis Taijeron scampered home on a passed ball to tie the game. Tony Davisrecorded the final out of the inning and took the win after New Hampshire's three-run ninth. Velasquez took the loss.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Rainy Lara makes his third start of the season and second straight against the Fisher Cats. The 23-year-old from Bani, Dominican Republic has won his first two decisions at Double-A. He tossed seven shutout innings and faced just one over the minimum against New Hampshire in his previous start on April 11 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. He struck out three, allowed three hits and did not walk a batter. He split last season between Savannah (Low-A) and St. Lucie (High-A) going 8-7 with a 2.85 ERA between both levels.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Deck McGuire takes the mound for his fourth start of the season and first against the B-Mets in 2014. He is fresh off of his second win, defeating the New Britain Rock Cats on April 14 at home. He allowed two runs on four hits and struck out three in six innings. Selected in the first round (11th overall pick) in the 2010 draft out of Georgia Tech, McGuire is in his fourth season with the Fisher Cats.

OFFENSE LIMTED: Friday night's seven-hit performance snapped a nine-game streak for the B-Mets of reaching eight hits or more. It was also the sixth time this season they have been out-hit. Binghamton is 1-5 in such games.

IT'S OVER: Wilfredo Tovar watched his eight-game hitting streak come to a close last night with an 0-for-3 outing. He had hit .270 (10-for-37) during the stretch. All was not lost though, as Tovar drove in Binghamton's first run with a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning.

HISTORY IN THEIR FAVOR: Excluding their rain-shortened one-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs, the B-Mets have gone 3-0 in series finales.

FAMILIAR FACE: Today marks Deck McGuire's 12th career start against the Binghamton Mets. In the last two seasons versus the Double-A Mets, he has gone 3-7 and compiled a 6.58 ERA.

BUMPY BULLPEN: Friday night was the fourth time this season the Binghamton Mets bullpen allowed three runs or more. Through 13 games, they have compiled a 4.19 ERA.

SATTERWHITE ROLLING: B-Mets reliever Cody Satterwhite registered six groundouts to post two scoreless innings of relief. The right-hander extended his season-opening scoreless streak to five games, spanning 8.2 innings.

STREAK STILL ALIVE: B-Mets outfielder Darrell Ceciliani continues to carry a season-opening hitting streak of eight games. He sits tied for fourth in the Eastern League with a .400 batting average.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets enjoy their first scheduled off day of the season on Sunday. They will pick up their second homestand of the season on Monday by opening a four-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs. RHP Tyler Pill gets the nod for the B-Mets for his third start of the year.
