Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

Kory Casto had three hits and drove in five runs, helping the Harrisburg Senators to a 6-2 win over the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium Sunday. Harrisburg won two out of three in the series as Binghamton finished their six-game homestand with a 2-4 mark. In the first, Harrisburg (29-27) got to B-Mets starter Bryan Edwards for an unearned run when first baseman Michel Abreu booted a groundball, allowing Tim Raines Jr. to score from second. That was the only run Casto didn't drive in for the Senators, as he plated two with a double off Edwards (1-5) in the third and drove in three more with a two-base hit in the fourth for a 6-0 Harrisburg lead. Binghamton (23-34) got to Harrisburg's Justin Echols in the fourth when Abreu singled, moved to second on Corey Ragsdale's base hit and scored on a groundball single to left off the bat of Mike DiFelice. The B-Mets added another off Echols (4-2) in the fifth when Jorge Padilla reached on an infield single, moved to second on an error and to third on a wild pitch before Jay Caligiuri brought him in with a sacrifice fly. The Binghamton bullpen provided 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief, striking out five. Daniel Foli pitched the final four innings for Harrisburg to earn his first save. After an off-day Monday, the B-Mets start a six-game road trip, opening a three-game set Tuesday against the Reading Phillies. Miguel Perez (1-2, 4.50) gets the ball for Binghamton against Scott Mathieson (5-2, 2.97) of Reading. Game time is 6:35 from FirstEnergy Stadium with the Horizons Federal Credit Union Pre-Game Show kicking off the broadcast at 6:20 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
