AUSTIN, Texas Dec. 5 2013- The Austin Toros were topped by the Texas Legends 123-96 in their second home game of the season Thursday evening at Cedar Park Center. Texas jumped to a 34-20 advantage after the first quarter and led 73-51 at the half. Toros cut the deficit to 12 points on two occasions in the second half, but couldn't overcome the strong Legends start.
Tre Kelley led six Toros in double figures, tying a season-high with 19 points. Dallas Mavericks-assignees Ricky Ledo and Melvin Ely each had 19 points to pace the Legends.
Texas finished with 52.7% shooting for the game and 57% (12 for 21) from three-point range.
Tonight marks the first of 10 regular season meetings between the Toros and Legends.
The Austin Toros (1-3) and Texas Legends (4-1) will play again on Dec. 7 at 7:00pm in Frisco, Texas. The Austin Toros next home game will be on Dec. 8 at 3:00pm against the Reno Bighorns.
