
Austin Toros Defeated by Rio Grande Valley Vipers

Austin, TX - The Austin Toros fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 109-92 Friday night at Cedar Park Center.
The Toros outscored the Vipers 30-19 in the first quarter, but sharpshooting (10 points) from Houston Rockets assignee Robert Covington in the second quarter helped the Vipers close the gap to 52-50 at the half.
The Vipers quickly regained the lead in the third quarter outscoring the Toros 31-19. Courtney Fells' 4-point play brought the Toros within two points early in the fourth quarter, but the Vipers' Tim Ohlbrecht scored 17 points on five of seven shooting giving the Vipers the win.
Courtney Fells paced the Toros with 23 points, followed closely by Flip Murray with 22.
The Vipers' Ohlbrecht led all scorers with 29 points. Troy Daniels chipped in 22 points.
Austin Toros (11-17) and Rio Grande Valley Vipers (22-8) play again on Feb. 8 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. The Toros next home game is Feb. 19 versus Sioux Falls Skyforce.
