Austin Spurs News Release

AUSTIN, TEXAS, Aug. 9, 2010 - The Austin Toros open their sixth season in the NBA Development League on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 when they travel to Maine to take on the Red Claws at the Portland Expo Center. The Toros' inaugural season at Cedar Park Center begins Thanksgiving weekend with a Toros-RGV Vipers rivalry rematch on Saturday, November 27th. Cedar Park Center was announced earlier today as the new home of the Toros for the 2010-11 season.

"The anticipation for the start of the 2010-11 season has been building up since our last-second crushing defeat in last season's semi-finals," said Peter Lubell, Toros COO. "This season, we're excited to bring back our popular theme nights like Military Appreciation Night, Scout Night and Spurs Affiliate Night. In addition, we're planning some new promotions that will be fun for the entire family."

The Toros-Red Claws contest is the first of 50 regular season games for the Toros, 24 of which will take place at Cedar Park Center. The Toros will also take part in the 2011 NBA D-League Showcase that will take place from Jan. 10-13 at The South Padre Island Convention Center in South Padre Island, Texas.

Also highlighting the 2010-11 NBA D-League Schedule is the fifth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game and the Dream Factory skills competition, which will take place as part of NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at NBA All-Star 2011 in Los Angeles.

Fans can purchase season ticket packages for Toros games at Cedar Park Center now by calling (512) 236-8333 or visiting austintoros.com. Ticket prices range from $5-$25 in the bowl, and $40-$100 for courtside seating.

"This season, we'll have fourteen weekend games which is the most we've had in years," added Lubell. "As Austin Toros basketball is one of the most affordable, family-fun entertainment options in Austin, these weekend dates will give our fans more opportunities to see some of the best basketball in the world."

For the second consecutive year, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West, with the Texas Legends replacing the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the Western Conference. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor, while the Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, New Mexico Thunderbirds, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash.
