November 27, 2023 - NBA G League (G League)
Austin Spurs News Release
AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs are ready to spread cheer this holiday season for area families through community-centered activations and player appearances as part of the G League's annual "Season of Giving," a social responsibility initiative geared toward supporting local youth and community from mid-November through December.
Austin staff members will participate in an interactive food donation event presented by Thrivent Financial on Tuesday, Nov. 28 that will take place at their headquarters. Austin Spurs staff will compete against staff from Round Rock Express and Realty Austin to build the most creative structures out of packaged goods. The food collected from the game will all be donated to Bethany Lutheran Church and Abiding Love Food Pantry.
On Tuesday, Dec. 12, Austin Spurs players will visit Dell Children's Hospital to spend time with young patients and their families while handing out blankets during their visit.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Silver and Black will play their annual Season of Giving game against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers where the team will host children from underserved communities throughout Austin. Each child will receive a stuffed animal courtesy of PetSmart Cedar Park.
