
Austin Spurs Drop Close Contest with Memphis Hustle

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - The Austin Spurs (15-13), presented by SWBC, fell to the Memphis Hustle (22-7) by a final score of 115-111 on the road Monday night.
San Antonio Spurs assignee Luka Samanic led all scorers with 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 34 minutes, while Dedric Lawson posted 24 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocks in 36 minutes. Spurs assignee Keldon Johnson recorded 21 points, 5 assists and 2 steals in 36 minutes.
Austin scored the first two baskets of the game and hung onto the lead for the remainder of the quarter. The Spurs led 23-20 after one.
Memphis took their first lead of the game (25-23) 48 seconds into the second. The teams continued to battle back and forth as the Spurs grew their lead to 6 at the half, 51-45.
Two and a half minutes into the third, Austin took their biggest lead of the game (58-49). Just one minute later, Memphis cut the lead to one (60-59). The quarter ended in a tie at 81.
In a game that had nine lead changes and 15 ties, the fourth alone had four lead changes and eight ties. A steal by Samanic that resulted in a dunk tied the score at 111 with one minute left in the game. Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson drove for a layup with six seconds remaining on the clock, putting Memphis up 113-111. Two free throws by Marquis Teague at the 0.7 second mark sealed the 115-111 victory for the Hustle.
For Memphis, Dusty Hannahs and Shaq Buchanan led the team with 23 points each. Teague contributed 22 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds in the team's win.
