Austin Reinstated from Restricted List, Transferred to High Desert

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster move that affects the Generals roster. OF Jamal Austin has been reinstated from the restricted list and transferred from Jackson's roster to Hi-A High Desert of the California League.

Austin, 23, received a 50-game suspension from the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball following his second positive test for a drug of abuse on June 27, 2014 while with Jackson. In 63 games for the Generals Austin was batting .262 (64x244), with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 16 RBI's and 19 stolen bases. Austin was selected by the Mariners in the 13th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Austin is a career .289 batter with 115 stolen bases over 354 minor league games.
