Austin Madaisky Reassigned to Springfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Thursday that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Austin Madaisky to Springfield from the ECHL's Evansville IceMen.

Madaisky, 22, has played 37 games for the Falcons this season, totaling eight points (four goals, four assists), 10 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. The Surrey, British Columbia native also played six games for Springfield in 2012-13, recording two penalty minutes and a +1 rating.

In eight games with the IceMen this season, Madaisky notched two assists. He appeared in 11 games with Evansville in 2012-13, registering six points (two goals, four assists) and two penalty minutes.

Madaisky was a fifth-round selection (124th overall) by Columbus in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning pro, he played junior hockey for the Calgary Hitmen and the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL.

Springfield closes out its regular-season schedule with two road tests this weekend - Friday, April 18 at the Hartford Wolf Pack and Saturday, April 19 at the Albany Devils.

The Falcons will host their first two home playoff games Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at the MassMutual Center. Both games will begin at 7:00 p.m., although an opponent has yet to be determined.
