Austin FC, Netspend Launch First-Ever Coach of the Year Award

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC and the Club's founding partner Netspend today announced the new Coach of the Year Award. The award gives Central Texans the chance to nominate any Central Texas public middle or high school coach within a 75-mile radius of Q2 Stadium. The Netspend Coach of the Year will receive $5,000 and will be honored at Austin FC's match at Q2 Stadium on May 13.

"Soccer is a powerful tool for helping young people learn, grow, and stay active, and youth coaches play a key role in fostering an enjoyable experience for their players," said Austin FC VP of Community Impact Trennis Jones. "Along with our founding partners Netspend, we hope that the Coach of the Year initiative will shine a light on all of the amazing work being done by public school coaches in Central Texas to make sports fun for their student athletes."

Nominations are now open through the final week of April and can be submitted for coaches who work at public middle or high schools within 75 miles of Q2 Stadium. The first, second, and third place winners will all be notified beginning May 3, 2023, with the first-place winner honored on May 13.
